Check on Domain Availability
Are You a Newbie and Don't Understand the Process? This might help...
You might already know this, but here’s what you’ll need in order to set up a website.
- A domain name
- A hosting plan
- A website
What is a domain name?
The domain name is the name that you are going to call your site on the internet. It will always end in a suffix like .com, .org, .co.uk, .net etc…
There are literally hundreds of different suffixes. Domain names are purchased & registered at various registrars (like Señor Hosting).
You will need to check to see if the particular name you want is available. Many of the shorter, easier domain names are already taken… like shoes.com or realtor.com.
Keep looking until you find a name that you like and is available… remember to check some of the other suffixes, like .net or .me because they generally have more availability than .com.
After you have decided on your domain name and have added it to the cart, then choose a hosting plan.

What is Hosting?
Generally speaking, if you only want one site and a few email addresses, the Personal plan is good for you. Don’t forget to purchase an SSL certificate during the checkout, since this plan doesn’t come with an SSL as the other plans do.
If you know you will need more than one site, then choose either the Enterprise or Pro plans, depending on how many sites you think you’ll need.
Finally, if you are a business that needs to expand, wants the ability to SSH to the server and generally speaking wants more control, choose the Business package.
